What would you say is the best goal ever scored?
Here is a few of my top goals:
Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) v Newcastle
If volleys are your thing, you’ll be hard pressed to match the technique and power that Rooney demonstrated when he rocketed this one home back in 2004 – all while arguing with the ref!
Dennis Bergkamp (Beepnal) v Newcastle
Skill, poise, precision – this one had the lot. A fitting lasting memory of the Dutchman’s time in the Premier League.
Roberto Carlos (Brazil) v France
There have been many great free-kicks scored over the years, but none have quite left the world with their mouth a gasp like “Thunder thighs’” swirling long-ranger in Le Tournoi.
David Beckham (Manchester United) v Wimbledon
Goals from distance are always impressive, but when a relative unknown announces himself on the scene with an effort from the half-way line on the first day of the season, it will always take something very special to knock him off his perch.
Matthew Le Tissier (Southampton) v Newcastle
Tough to pick out just one great goal of the Saints legend’s career, but this audacious juggling effort against Newcastle takes the biscuit for us.
Simon Coz (nottingham Forest) V birmingham City
Being a forest fan im pretty bias but you have to admit, this is a fantastic goal.
Paul Gascoine (England) V Scotland
No matter if you like football or not, you have to admit you loved it when Gazza smashed this in against scotland and celebrated with the dentist chair.
